Portland, ME - Maine Footy faced Sporting CT at Memorial Stadium on 06/29/2024, but were defeated 2-0 in a tough match.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The match began with Sporting on the attack early. In the 14th minute, Natalle Tayana scored off a rebound after a shot by Sporting hit the post, giving Sporting the early lead.

The Tide created opportunities but were unable to capitalize. Sally Rainey played a great game between the posts keeping The Tide in the game, including a fantastic string of saves in the 31st minute. The game was evenly balanced with possession while both teams battled for offensive opportunities.

In the second half, Sporting CT continued to pressure. Sally Rainey made multiple saves, but in the 86th minute, May Cervone scored following a short corner from Cara Jordan, sealing the victory for Sporting CT.

LOOKING AHEAD

Maine Footy will play their last game of the regular season against Albany Rush at Memorial Stadium in Portland, ME. The match is scheduled for Sunday, July 7th, at 7PM EDT. The Tide will aim to finish the season strong and secure a win in front of their home fans.
