RISING TIDE

Maine Footy has recently announced its roster for the upcoming 2024 season! Building on the successes of their first year, which saw the Tide make a playoff run in 2023, Maine Footy is eager to showcase a mix of returners and new talent from six countries and nine states.  Six players from the 2023 season have returned to Maine for the 2024 season: Sarah Peternel, Logan Nicholson, Audrey Fletcher, Maddie Michaud, Sally Rainey, and Devan Sherry. Alongside returning players, Head Coach Will Pike will also be returning for his second season with the tide. Coach Pike said "I am looking forward to working with this group of talented athletes and eager to build on the success we had last year." Below is our full roster for the 2024 season!


 #1 JORDAN WOLF

Jordan Wolf
, originally from Falmouth, Maine, Jordan recently transferred to UMaine from Stony Brook.

During her time at Falmouth High School, Jordan lettered four years and captained the team in her final two seasons. She has an impressive career record, with 25 clean sheets and achieving an extraordinary 459:35 scoreless streak during her senior season, including eight shutouts. Jordan's stellar performance earned her numerous accolades, including three selections to the Maine Soccer Coaches All-State South Team and two appearances on the Maine State All-Region Southern A-Team. Additionally, she was honored as the SMAA Defensive Player of the Year in 2021 and received recognition as a two-time SMAA First Team member.

 #2 AUDREY FLETCHER

Audrey Fletcher,
 a senior from Monmouth, ME, who recently transferred to the University of Southern Maine soccer program and is returning for a 2nd year at Maine Footy.

In the 2022 season, Fletcher played for the University of Maine Farmington (UMF) and started in all 18 games for the Beavers. She finished the season with impressive stats, leading the team with 10 goals and 6 assists, totaling 26 points. Her outstanding performance earned her recognition as NAC All-Conference First Team and was selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region I Third Team. Notably, she was named the NAC Player of the Week on September 19th, 2022.

In the 2021 season, Fletcher played in all 18 games and started each one. As a midfielder, she tallied impressive stats, recording 19 points with 8 goals and 3 assists. Audrey's dynamic play in the midfield was instrumental in guiding the Beavers to a NAC Quarterfinal appearance and a 7-11 overall record. Her standout performances earned her recognition with a 2021 NAC Second Team All-Conference selection.

 #4 LOGAN NICHOLSON

Logan Nicholson
, a senior from St. Augustine, Florida, has been a standout defender for the UNH soccer program, earning accolades both on and off the field. Nicholson's commitment to excellence is demonstrated by her academic and athletic achievements throughout her collegiate career. 

In the 2023 season, she appeared in 15 games, starting 7, and registered a career-high 9 shots, including a season-high 2 shots against UMass Lowell on September 28th. Additionally, she played a season-high 90 minutes against Maine on October 27th.

During the 2022 season, Nicholson appeared in 11 games, starting 5, and recorded 3 shots, 1 of which was on goal. In the 2021 season, she started all 19 games, tallying 1 assist and ranking fifth among UNH field players in minutes played with 1,648. Logan's collegiate debut in the spring of 2021 saw her playing in four games with three starts, recording seven shots, five on goal. 

Before joining UNH, Nicholson graduated from Nease High School in 2020, where she scored 46 career goals and was named a North Florida Senior All-Star. She was also recognized as a 4-time All-First Coast Team member, 4-time All-County Team member, and 3-time All-Conference Team member. As a member of the National Honor Society and ASL National Honor Society, Logan's dedication extended beyond the field. Additionally, she served as captain for the Jacksonville Armada club soccer team and captain of the Maine Footy team in the 2023 season.

Animari Bosnjak
, a freshman from Koprivnica, Croatia, is currently pursuing a degree in Exercise Science. Bosnjak earned a PSAC West Defensive Player of the Week accolade in 2023 and represented Croatia at the U19 National Team level. 

During the 2023 season at Mercyhurst University, she showcased her versatility by appearing in 21 games for the Lakers, starting in 15. Her ability to create opportunities for the team showed, racking up 6 assists with a goal of her own and an impressive 13 shots, with 8 of them on target.

As a junior, Safia has demonstrated her commitment both on and off the pitch, earning recognition as a PSAC Scholar Athlete for the 2021-22 academic year. On the pitch, Safia's defensive skills are demonstrated, starting in several matches. Her performance in the 2021 season saw her making significant contributions, including earning points for a well-executed goal.

#9 MADISON MICHAUD

Madison Michaud is 
currently enrolled at the University of Maine.

During her sophomore year, Madison played in 11 matches, showcasing her athleticism on the field. While primarily focused on team play and midfield strategies, she recorded one shot and one shot on goal.

At Gorham High School,  she earned numerous accolades, including being named to the state of Maine all-star team for three consecutive years from 2019 to 2021. Additionally, Madison's exceptional performance led her to receive All-Conferencehonors each of her four seasons at Gorham, where she also led her high school team in scoring during her final three seasons. Beyond soccer, Madison's athleticism can be noted in track and field, where she achieved multiple state championships in both indoor and outdoor events. Furthermore, she contributed to her basketball team's success, culminating in a state runners-up title during her final year. Madison also played for Maine Footy during the startup 2023 season and returned as a player for the subsequent season in 2024.

Sarah Peternel,
 a dynamic midfielder, currently pursues her studies in Economics at Shepherd University. She spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons at the University of New Hampshire and the 2020 season at the University of Memphis.

During the 2022 season, Sarah showcased her skills in 14 games out of 18, earning one start. She demonstrated her offensive capabilities by scoring a goal against Bryant on October 13th and contributing two points to her team's success. Throughout the season, Sarah totaled three shots, with one shot finding the back of the net.

In the 2021 season, Sarah made appearances in 10 games, all off the bench. She made her debut for the University of New Hampshire in the season opener against Merrimack, playing 34 minutes.

During the 2020 season at the University of Memphis, she contributed to a team that advanced to the NCAA tournament. 

Prior to her collegiate career, Sarah excelled in high school, playing soccer and cross-country skiing at Kingswood Regional High School. Her talents were recognized with an All-State Honorable Mention, and she represented New Hampshire on the ODP U14 state team. Additionally, Sarah honed her skills playing club soccer for the FC Stars of Massachusetts.

#12 GABRIELLE CHISHOLM

Gabrielle Chisholm, a sophomore from Danvers, Massachusetts, is currently attending Saint Anselm College.

In 2023, she demonstrated her defensive skills by starting in all 18 matches for the Hawks, contributing to a team effort that limited opponents to just 18 goals throughout the season. Additionally, she attempted 3 shots, with 2 on target, showcasing her offensive capabilities as well.

During her freshman year in 2022, Chisholm made contributions to the Hawks' defensive efforts, drawing 11 starts in 17 appearances. She attempted five shots, with two on target, and played a role in the team's achievement of four shutouts throughout the season. She also contributed to securing the team's second-consecutive NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship appearance.

Before joining Saint Anselm, Chisholm attended Danvers High School, where she was a standout member of both the soccer and basketball teams. Additionally, she played club soccer for the New England Football Club (NEFC). With a strong academic record, including multiple honors distinctions, and her leadership roles as a team captain.


#13 EMMA BADGER

Emma Badger
, a sophomore from Wells, Maine, plays as a defender for the Florida Gulf Coast University soccer team. With her commanding presence on the field, Badger brings both physicality and skill to the defensive line, making her an asset to the team's backline.

Badger spent her freshman year at Boston College, appearing in four games and earning a start in one. Her collegiate debut against Providence on September 8th marked the beginning of her journey, where she showcased her abilities by earning her first career start and playing the full 90 minutes against Army on September 11th.

Before College, Badger's journey to collegiate soccer started as a standout player for Wells High School, she earned four-time First Team All-Conference honors and was twice recognized as a Regional All-Star. Badger's leadership qualities were evident as captain of her high school team and was named MVP in 2021. Not only excelling on the field, but Badger also maintained high academic standards, being a member of the National Honor Society. Her club soccer experience with Seacoast United, FC Stars, and GPS Maine further enhanced her skills and showcased her talent, earning her selection for the GA Northeast Talent ID Conference event.

#15 ABBEY THORNTON

Abbey Thornton
, a talented midfielder is currently attending the University of Maine, playing for the Black Bears as a freshman. 

In her freshman year, Abbey earned recognition as a member of the America East All-Conference Rookie Team. Throughout the season, she showcased her abilities in 16 contests, scoring her first collegiate goal in a match against Sacred Heart. Abbey's offensive prowess was further demonstrated by her recording of 10 shots, with six of them on goal.

At Windham High School, Thornton made a profound impact as a midfielder and captain. In 2021, she led her high school team to the Maine Class "A" Girls State Championship Title. Abbey's outstanding performance earned her the title of 2021 Class "A" Offensive Player of the Year, along with recognition as an All-State and All-Region Team Member in both 2021 and 2022. Setting a remarkable record, she established the Windham High School record for most goals in a single seasonwith 34 in 2022. Additionally, Abbey's contributions extended to her club team, Seacoast GA, where she helped lead her team to the playoffs in the 2022 season.

Jasmine Leshnick
, a dynamic freshman from San Francisco, California, made an immediate impact on the pitch. 

During her first season at Harvard University, in her first-year season, she racked up four goals and an assist. Leshnick contributed to the team's success from various positions. Leshnick scored a highlight-reel bicycle kick goal against Dartmouth, earning her recognition as ESPN SportsCenter’s Top Play of the Day. Jasmine's journey to Harvard is marked by her exceptional skill set and notable achievements, including being called up to the United States U17 National Team and her induction into the Northern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2022

#17 EMILY SUPPLE

Emily Supple, a sophomore midfielder from Cape Elizabeth, Maine, is currently attending Bryant University. In her sophomore year (2023), Emily appeared in 13 games and made 11 starts. She contributed with an assist against Stonehill on September 7th and took nine shots during the season, with three on goal. Emily's performance earned her a spot on the CSC Academic All-District Team in the 2023 season.

During her freshman year in 2022, Emily appeared in eleven games and recorded her first career assist against Stony Brook on August 21st, showcasing her early impact on the field.

Prior to attending Bryant University, Emily stacked up a list of accolades and  achievements. In 2021, she was named United Soccer Coaches All-AmericanAll-Region, and All-State, as well as being part of the Southern Class B Regional All-Star Team and earning the All-Star Senior Bowl MVP title. Her accolades in 2020 included Offensive Player of the YearNew England Soccer Journal All-New England Player, and recognition in the Maine Coaches State and Regional All-Star Teams. In 2018, she was awarded the CEGS Rookie of the Year. Emily played varsity soccer for four years at Cape Elizabeth High School, leading them to three State Championships and maintaining an impressive 59-2 record throughout her high school career. She was also a member of the Seacoast Girls Academy and the National Honor Society, demonstrating her excellence both on and off the field.

Meghan Guarente
, from Swell, New Jersey, has been a key player for her soccer teams, showcasing her skills consistently across seasons.

In the 2023 season, she started in all 16 games, ranking among the top players in the America East conference and leading her team in various statistical categories. Notably, Meghan ranked 2nd in shots and shots on goal, 1st on the team in points, and tied for 1st in game-winning goals. Additionally, she ranked 4th in assists and tied for 5th in goals in the conference. Throughout the season, Meghan recorded 5 multi-point games and factored in multiple goals. 

In the 2022 season, she started in all 18 games and tallied seven goals and seven assists, leading her team in goals, points, shots, and shots on goal. Meghan received recognition as the America East Offensive Player of the Week and demonstrated her clutch ability by converting crucial shootout penalty kicks in conference playoff matches.

During the 2021 season, Meghan played all 19 games with 17 starts. She recorded three goals and four assists, tying for the team lead in assists and ranking second in goals and points. Meghan's contributions were key in conference matches, where she recorded a career-high three points in her collegiate debut and secured victories with crucial goals.

Before her collegiate career at UNH, Meghan excelled at Gloucester County Institute of Technology, where she set program records for career goals and earned numerous accolades, including All-Conference First Team selections and Player of the Year honors.

, from New Hartford, N.Y., showcased her talent as a forward during her first season at Harvard University. 

Rayhill made her mark in her first year with three points, including a goal in the NCAA Tournament. Her versatility on the field was evident as she logged significant minutes both on the wing and at forward. Anna's debut season was highlighted by her contribution to Harvard's success, including securing the Ivy League Tournament Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament's Second Round.

Erika Haugen
, a junior from Trondheim, Norway, is currently attending Biola University, majoring in Business Administration. 

Haugen spent one season at Saint Leo University, participating in parts of five matches and totaling 69 minutes in the 2021 season. She was also a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee(SAAC) and the President's Club

In high school, Haugen prepped at Strinda Videregående and spent a year on exchange at Monterey HS, graduating in 2019. At Monterey, she played one varsity season of soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. Academically, she ranked in the top 20 percent of her graduating class. Additionally, Erika played club soccer and handball in Norway.

Willa Pratt
, a promising freshman from Sauquoit, N.Y., has made an immediate impact on the soccer field at the University of Delaware. 

In the 2023 season, she appeared in 18 matches and earned four starts. Pratt scored her first career goal against La Salle (Aug. 24) with more following. In the team's 9-1 win over Hampton (Oct. 19), Pratt contributed to tying the program record for goals scored in a game.

Sally Rainey
, a goalkeeper currently enrolled at the University of New Hampshire, plays as a goalkeeper for the soccer program. As a sophomore, she has already achieved numerous accolades for her outstanding performance both on the field and in academics. 

In the 2023 season, Rainey started in all 16 games. She recorded a season-high of 9 saves in a single game against Maine on October 27th. Notably, Rainey led the America East in shutouts with 8 and ranked 2nd in goals against average (.821), save percentage (.843), 4th in total saves (75), and 6th in saves per game (4.38). 

During the 2022 season, Rainy played in 3 games, starting 1 of them. She allowed an average of 1.07 goals per game and registered five saves, tallying a save percentage of .875. Rainey even recorded a goal against Siena on September 25th, showcasing her versatility on the field. 

Before UNH, Rainy played at Lebanon High School, where she earned a four-time All-State First Team selection and was a three-time captain for both the soccer and basketball teams. She earned All-State Second Team honors in soccer as a senior and was recognized for her academic achievements with Highest Honors throughout high school. Sally also excelled in club soccer for FC Stars of Massachusetts, further solidifying her reputation as a talented athlete.

Delaney Glode
, a senior defender from Kennebunkport, Maine, is currently attending Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. 

In the 2023 season, Glode appeared and started in all 18 games, contributing to the Hawks' amazing defensive season. Delaney also posted an assist against Franklin Pierce on October 11 and was part of the defensive lineup that recorded six shutouts.

As a junior in 2022, Delaney started in all 14 games she appeared in, netting one goal and contributing to the team's four shutouts. Her goal against Saint Michael’s on September 21 proved to be the game-winner. She continued to showcase her defensive skills while also making offensive contributions.

During her sophomore year in 2021, Delaney started in all 16 games she appeared in and netted one goal, including a game-winning goal in overtime against Adelphi. She contributed in the Hawks' defensive line that posted eight shutouts and helped the team secure its first NE10 Playoff match win and reach the NCAA Postseason for the first time in program history.

Before joining Saint Anselm College, Glode had a successful high school career, playing varsity soccer, lacrosse, and running track for the Rams. She earned accolades such as the Most Valuable Player on the soccer team, team captain in her senior year, and the 2019 Eruzione Award. Delaney's academic achievements were also notable as she was an Honor Roll student at Kennebunk. Her dedication to sports extended to club soccer with the New England Football Club, where she continued to hone her skills and passion for the game.

Devan Sherry
, a sophomore defender from Gorham, Maine, is currently attending Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire. She has been recognized for her academic achievements, earning spots on the Northeast-10 Fall and Spring Academic Honor Rolls in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic years.

At Saint Anselm's, Sherry has been an asset for the Hawks. In the 2023 season, she appeared in 13 matches and started 5 of them, showcasing her defensive skills. Sherry also attempted two shots during the season, with one of them on target.

During her freshman year in 2022, Sherry made six starts in 13 appearances for the Hawks. She registered one assist and made her collegiate debut against Wilmington (Del.) on August 31. Notably, Devan recorded her first collegiate assist and point on November 3 against nationally-ranked Saint Rose in the NE10 Semifinals. She also contributed to the team's four shutouts and their second-consecutive NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Championship appearance.

Before joining Saint Anselm College, Devan graduated from the Waynflete School. She participated in soccer, basketball, and track, showcasing her athletic ability. Sherry also excelled academically, earning recognition as a Waynflete Scholar for four years and being named to the All-Academic Team as a senior. Her leadership qualities were evident as she served as the co-editor of the yearbook club and captained the soccer team during her senior year. Devan's talent and dedication earned her multiple Western Maine All-Conference selections and a spot among the Top 20 Players to Watch in southern Maine.
